How do I add a new page?
Write the page as an article in Content → Articles, then add a menu item of the type "Single Article" that points to it.
Pages in Joomla
Joomla has no "page" type. A page is a menu item that shows something: most often an article. So you write the content as an article, then create a menu item so the page gets its own address and a link in the menu.
Write the content
- Go to Content → Articles → New.
- Enter a Title, write the text, choose a Category, and set Status to Published.
- Click Save & Close.
Give it an address and a menu link
- Go to Menus → Main Menu → New.
- Enter a Menu Title (the link text).
- Click Select next to Menu Item Type and choose Articles → Single Article.
- Choose your article, then click Save & Close. The page is now live at the menu item's address.
Good to know
- Need a page that isn't in the menu? Create the menu item in a separate menu that isn't shown on the site (a "hidden menu").
- For a list of news or blog posts, use Category Blog instead of Single Article.
