How do I change my home page?
Go to Menus → Main Menu. The home page is the item with the house icon: open it to change what it shows, or set another item as Home.
How Joomla decides the home page
The home page is simply the menu item marked as Default Page. Whatever that menu item shows (one article, a blog of articles, a contact form…) is what visitors see at your main address.
Change what the home page shows
- Go to Menus → Main Menu (or the menu that holds your home item).
- Find the item with the house icon in the Home column: that is the current home page.
- Open it and change its Menu Item Type or the article/category it points to.
- Click Save & Close, then view your site.
Make another page the home page
- In the menu list, click the house icon (Home column) of the item you want, or open the item and set Default Page to Yes.
- Save. The house icon moves to that item.
Good to know
- Modules shown on the home page are set per module: in each module's Menu Assignment tab, include or exclude the home menu item.
- A popular home page type is Featured Articles: mark articles as Featured and they appear there.
