The installer is stuck at "Creating tables"

Why it happens

Creating the tables is the heaviest step of the installer. If the server stops PHP scripts after a short time, or the database refuses part of the work, the progress bar just stops.

Fix it

1. In your hosting panel, raise max_execution_time to 300 and memory_limit to 256M.
2. Check that the database server is MySQL 8.0.13+ or MariaDB 10.4+.
3. Empty the database (or create a new one) so no half-created tables are left.
4. Delete configuration.php from the site folder if the installer already created it.
5. Run the installer again.
