How do I hide an article's title?

JoomlaContent, menus & templates Updated 17 Oct 2026

Edit the article → Options tab → Show Title: Hide. To hide it on a whole menu page, set it in the menu item's Options instead.

Where the setting lives

Joomla decides whether to show the title in three places: globally for all articles, per menu item, and per article. The most specific setting wins.

One article

  1. Open the article and go to the Options tab.
  2. Set Title to Hide, and save.

All articles on a menu page

  1. Open the menu item, go to its Options tab, set Title to Hide.

All articles

  1. Go to Content → Articles → Options and set Title to Hide.

Good to know

  • The browser tab title and search results still use the title; that is good for SEO.
  • The big heading on a menu page can be something else: the page heading (menu item → Page Display → Show Page Heading).
