FixJoomlaErrors & troubleshooting Updated 17 Oct 2026

Clear the cache in System → Clear Cache, then reload the page with Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + R.

Why it happens

Something is showing you a saved copy of the page: Joomla's cache, a page cache plugin, your browser, or a cache at your host or CDN. Editing an article does not clear Joomla's page cache for the pages that show it.

Clear the caches, in order

  1. Joomla: System → Clear Cache, select all and click Delete. (Also System → Clear Expired Cache.)
  2. Browser: reload with Ctrl + Shift + R (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + R (Mac), or open the page in a private window.
  3. Template: some templates cache their CSS; look for a "clear cache" or "compile CSS" button in the template style.
  4. Host or CDN: clear the server cache (LiteSpeed, Varnish, Cloudflare) in your hosting panel.

Still nothing?

  • Check you edited the right thing: the right article, the right language version, or the template style that is actually used on that page.
  • Check the item is Published and the publishing dates are right.

Good to know

  • While you build a site, turn caching off (Global Configuration → System → System Cache: OFF) and turn it on when you go live.
